The Official Game Review Thread
So, as the title suggests this is the place to post your reviews of games. Sort of a place for everyone to come look when they want a new game and is undecided, or maybe just for a good read. There's no restrictions on the games posted, they can be on your Atari 2600 or your PS3 just so long as you aren't breaking any normal forum rules.
The only thing we ask is that you adhere to the standard format of review for this thread. This is in place to prevent people posting 3 line reviews or reviews that are of no use to anyone.
Posting a Review -
First, you should post the game you are reviewing, The system's that it's available on, the Version tested, The Genre and The year of release.
So for Example, If I were to be reviewing Final Fantasy VII....
-----------------------------------
Game: Final Fantasy VII
Format: Windows, Playstation 1 (Version Tested)
Genre: Role-Playing Game
Original Release: 1997
-----------------------------------
See? Simple. Now, after you have put down that information you can get down to the actual review. We ask that all reviews include coverage of these sections:
------------------------------------
Introduction: Could include - History, Reason for purchase.
Style: eg. Graphics, Sound, Story, Atmosphere.
Gameplay: eg. Controls, Learning Curve, Level Design, A.I
Lifespan: eg. Replayability, Multiplayer, etc.
Conclusion: Overall Conclusion, You'd like it if you liked, if you like it you'll like, Recommended or not.
------------------------------------
Of course the review doesn't have to set out in sections, we just ask that in your review you address each of these points (if applicable) in order to give the reader a complete view of the game.
Then finish up with your Rating of the game, this should be out of 10 but only whole numbers or .5's of numbers to avoid over analysis of the rating (eg. 3/10, 6.5/10 and 10/10 is fine but 5.1/10, 6.9/10 and 9.9/10 is not.)
In addition, the only Polls that are allowed in this section is one that is as follows:
Was this review good?
1. Yes
2. No
any other polls will be deleted.
So then, with all that covered. Get writing, we await your reviews!
Please note: each review is it's own thread, and we ask that only the reviewer post in the thread. if you want to comment on the review, PM the reviewer.
